A differentiated curriculum should not be confused with “enrichment”. Differentiated means decidedly different – or markedly different so that only gifted children would benefit from the curriculum. More of the same work or aiding other students is not differentiated curriculum. The principles of a differentiated curriculum include the areas of curriculum content, process, product and environment. These areas guide curriculum focus.
