What is a dial-up network connection?
A dial-up network connection is a component in Windows XP that enables you to connect your computer to a network via a modem. If your computer is not connected to a company network or a high-speed internet connection (ADSL, cable modem) and you want to connect to the Internet, you need to configure Dial-Up Networking.
