What is a Degree in Public Relations?
A degree in Public Relations teaches students how to use media resources and outreach efforts to influence public opinion, usually in favor of a corporation, organization or agency. Public relations students learn how to write press releases, meet with members of the public and with other concerned parties such as shareholders or investors, conduct and verify research and gauge public opinion. Public Relations majors should have effective communications and writing skills, feel confident speaking in public and enjoy interacting with others.
