What is a defect and what is a severity rating?
Defects are identified then rated by the severity of the issue at hand. For example, once a fire hazard or a safety concern has been identified, the severity rating would be “Require Immediate Attention”. Whereas, a home which has an absence of eavestrough may have a recommendation of “Require Attention Shortly” for possible future concern. Or just simply, “Maintenance Required” as would be the case with a dirty furnace filter.
