What is a Day Brightener?
A. Some people live alone and do not have relatives, so their birthdays go un-noticed. Or, they don’t have someone to send flowers or gifts to them while in the hospital. Most of these individuals are the elderly. We call these “just because we care” gifts. They are sent when someone loses a loved one, needs a pick me up, is hospitalized or in a residential treatment facility, such as a hospital, nursing home, care home, etc. Sometimes, they are sent to siblings or children of patients.
