What is a data interface model?
A data interface model is used to prepare or manipulate data which will later be exported to a database or proprietary system. Most of the models we create arise out of a clients need to move large amounts of data automatically instead of manually. These needs exist since many proprietary database systems will not export or prepare data in the fashion that is required by the client or by one of the client’s other database systems. The best way to illustrate this is by giving a few actual client examples: Client Case Study # 1 The Canadian division of a large international manufacturer was months away from the release of a new database system that would control all of their manufacturing processes.
