This three-digit number appears on the back of your credit card in the signature area, at the end of your account number. It is an additional security element that many online merchants are now requesting in addition to the credit card account number and expiration date. The ShopSafe account number you generate will also have an associated CVV2 or CVC2 number. If the online merchant requests the number from the back of your credit card, use the unique CVV2 (for VISA) or CVC2 (for MasterCard) number generated along with the unique ShopSafe number.
