What is a CSV format file?
A CSV formatted file is a text file where each row of text represents a different record, for example, all the information for a single hotel guest. The rows of information are broken up into columns. Commas separate the columns. Each row has the same number of columns and the same type of information in each column. Following is an example of a CSV file with each piece of data in a separate column from left to right: room number, first name, last name, city, state, zip code.
