What is a court transcript and how is it used?
A court transcript is a written record of what was said in a court hearing transcribed from an electronic recording or Court Reporter notes by a neutral party. It is most often used by parties seeking review by another court. For example, a transcript or an agreement about what happened in the case, is required for appeals to the Law Court. Please refer to Maine Rule of Appellate Procedure 5(d).
