What is a Continuous Blood Glucose Monitor?
Continuous blood glucose monitors read children’s blood glucose levels on a minute-by-minute basis using a small sensor inserted under the skin. The blood glucose level is then transmitted to a device that looks like a pager. Continuous glucose monitors provide constant glucose readings and are also able to tell diabetic children if their glucose level is going up or down, with preset alarms that tell them when their blood glucose level is out of normal range.
