What is a containment area and where is it located in Hampshire County?
A. A “containment area” is an area designated by the Director of the Division of Natural Resources where deer have been found to be infected with chronic wasting disease. The purpose of a containment area is to manage, control, eradicate and/or prevent the spread of the disease. The containment area is the area North of US Route 50 in Hampshire County (See page 11 in the 2008-2009 Hunting and Trapping Regulations).
