What is a Constitutional Amendment?
Nebraska Young Democrats is governed by its constitution (to read it, click here). It lays out everything from the organization’s structure to details of officer duties and qualifications for membership. Throughout the year, all actions done by the executive committee must be done in accordance with the constitution, which can only be amended at State Convention. So….each year we are constantly trying to better our organization, and sometimes that means amendments to our governing document must be made. Anyone is free to propose a constitutional amendment. If you feel NYD can be improved by a change in its constitution, please don’t hesitate to propose an amendment. All proposed amendments must submitted in writing to convention@nebraskayoungdemocrats.org 48 hours prior to the opening of convention.
