A. A concurrent review is UR conducted on an RFA submitted for treatment during an inpatient (hospital) stay. The timeframe for making the decision is the same as for prospective reviews. There is a difference in the time allotted for the written communications-the written decision must be sent within 24 hours for concurrent reviews instead of the two business days allotted for prospective reviews.
