What is a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)?
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development issues a specified amount of money to be filtered down to local communities and used for the express purpose of addressing neighborhood beautification, revitalization and general quality-of-life issues. This money is reserved for neighborhoods that are found to be in a lower to moderate income classification, as is identified by the Census.
