Communities In Schools Local Network Affiliates are locally-defined organizations that work to develop and harness community resources, bringing support into schools and community locations to help students to successfully learn and complete their education. Each affiliate organization is headed by an executive director and a board of directors leading the charge for student success in their communities, developing programs and services that students need to be successful. Using a community development approach, Local CIS affiliates build partnerships that bring needed community resources and services into their schools to help students successfully learn. Big or small, rural, urban or suburban, all communities have resources that can be tapped to help strengthen schools and students.
