What is a combination lock?
A combination lock is a lock that is unlocked by entering a combination. Although it can refer to both mechanical and electronic locks, the term combination lock describes a mechanical lock. Mechanical locks are operated through a dial, which you spin to the left, then right, then left, then right again to open the lock. The 3-wheel mechanical locks that we install on our safes can be set on 1 number or three numbers. We preset mechanical locks to a unique 3 number combination. Changing the combination by the user voids our warranty. We e-mail combinations to the e-mail address provided during the order process. If you do not have access to that e-mail, you can log in and retrieve it here: Direct Safes Client Login Here is an explanation that might be useful to you: “Combo” is a term commonly used to refer to a combination (mechanical) lock.
