What is a Combination (Combi) Boiler?
A Combination (Combi) Boiler is the name given to a boiler that provides heat for central heating and heats water instantaneously on the opening of a hot tap. Combination Boilers do not need to store hot water in a copper cylinder which leads to elimination of hot water storage components in the cupboard saving you space and reducing heat loss from the stored hot water. This improves the energy efficiency profile and means that there are fewer components in the system. Combi Boilers are also considered to be amongst the easiest systems to install, because they eliminate the need for both an expansion tank in the loft and a hot water cylinder in an airing cupboard. The combi boiler does have limitations. Most standard combi boilers take 40 seconds to heat water. Combi Boilers provide maximum pressure through only one tap at a time. If you have two taps running, the powerful flow rate is diminished in one (or both) of the taps. So, if you want high temperature and a high output flow rate
