What is a CMS?
A CMS is a content management system which is typically used by companies and organizations to manage enterprise or web content. There are different types of content management systems. The main types are Enterprise and Web Content Management systems. Since most content is moving to the web that is where most systems have evolved to. The main concept is that you can provide business users a way to create, update, add, delete content without involving technical programming. Typically a lot of the systems have workflow and approvals for managing the flow of changes. The systems often separate design and content from each other to make it easier to author content.
