What is a class action and who is involved?
In a class action, one or more people or businesses called “class representatives” (in this case, A Fast Sign Company, Inc.) sue on behalf of other people and businesses who have similar claims. Together, everyone is the “class” or “class members.” The business that sued and all class members are called the plaintiffs. The company they sued (in this case, AHS) is called the defendant. Except for those people who choose to exclude themselves from the class, one court resolves the issues for everyone in the class.
