What is a CKD and CBD?
The planning of kitchen and bathroom spaces requires unique design skills because of the many complex options available and how each individual uses the space. Certified Kitchen Designers (CKDs) and Certified Bathroom Designers (CBDs) specialize in the design, planning and execution of kitchens, bathrooms and other built-in units throughout the home. Only a select group of expert designers attain the CKD and/or CBD designation. The National Kitchen and Bath Association is the professional organization that supports CKD’s and CBD’s. To maintain membership, continuing education credits must be earned. This insures that designers have current design skills for constantly changing building standards and new products introduced to the marketplace.
