What is a Christian Reformed church like?
Well, if they subscribe to classic reformed theology, then they’re probably going to be: A) Calvinists (believing strongly in God’s sovereignty and the doctrine of election) — this is *quite* different from a Wesleyan church — Wesley hated Calvinism and was strongly arminian. B) They may believe in infant baptism, since they believe in covenant theology, which I think implies that a baby being born into a Christian family is saved. (I’ve never really properly understood this). C) They’ll likely be non-dispensational (again, covenant theology) and be amillenialist or postmillenialists. (Rapture oriented, “Left Behind” like theology tends to be dispensational). D) They’re likely cessationist or cautiously open to ‘sign gifts’ (tongues, healing miracles, prophecy, etc). In terms of worship, etc., I wouldn’t think it would vary much. The only variance would be if you are unfortunate enough to run into a reformed church that adheres to what is called regulative principle. They wouldn’t
