What is a chord chart?
A chord chart is exactly what it says it is: a chart of chords. Most songs, especially popular songs, regardless of the genre, are based on musical formulas which allow a guitarist to write down the chords which underly the song’s melody. Armed with the chord chart, you can usually play through a song almost immediately. Here is the chord chart for “Mad World”, which is in 4/4 time, so you count 4 beats for each chord.
