What is a child support assessment?

When you contact CSA we can make an administrative assessment for your child support arrangements based on the child support formula. This is called the formula assessment. Most of our customers have a child support formula assessment. Once you register a case with the CSA a confirmation letter will be sent in the mail with your child support assessment notice attached. This assessment will include all the information used to work out your final annual child support amount. Your assessment will also include your customer reference number (CRN) on the top right hand side, which you will need if you call us about your case at any time. If your case details change at any time, you will need to call us on 131 272 so we can update your child support assessment. We will then send you an updated or new assessment in the mail. Alternatively you can keep track of your child support case online by registering for our free secure online service, CSAonline.
