What is a Chicago screw?
A Chicago screw is the most common style of attachment for conchos. It is comprised of a “post” and separate “screw”. The post is attached to the back of the concho and has threads inside to accept the screw. To attach the concho, a hole is punched in the leather and the post is inserted. The screw is threaded through the hole and into the post, and tightened with a screwdriver.
