What is a Chemical Straightener?
A chemical straightener, also called relaxer is used to straighten out ones natural curl or wave. Actually, they are also very useful for persons with extremely straight, strong resistant hair to help break down the hair shaft for more body and movement. Relaxers are applied to the whole shaft initially, with timing that depends on the curliness of the hair, and what the final preference will be. Relaxers usually last until it’s cut off, or if the hair is exceptionally curly, until the natural curl comes back. Much like perms relax to the normal straight state, relaxed hair can revert back to curly.
