What is a Certified Diabetes Educator, and how can I speak to one?
A Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is an experienced health care professional who provides information, support and guidance for persons with diabetes to help them live a healthier life. Before consulting with patients, all Certified Diabetes Educators must first pass a national certification board exam in the specialty of diabetes education. Re-certification is required every five years. Better Care Program members may consult with a CDE upon request, for free.
