What is a CCTV Security System?
A CLOSED CIRCUIT TELEVISION (CCTV) Security System is a crime deterrent and information system based on the use of cameras to monitor specific locations in your office or home and to detect and record any activity in these areas. The video signals sent by the cameras are not meant for broadcasting to an audience or the general public; these images are basically for private use only by security personnel or home or business owners. These cameras are normally connected to devices such as: switchers, quads, multiplexer, PC, Image Server or just directly to a monitor. That interconnection between cameras and other equipments and monitors is called a system and the fact that the video signals sent by the cameras are privately use for surveillance or the visual protection of a location, properties or people completes the definition of CCTV Security System.
