What is a CBS code?

0

Every KeyBox contains a call before showing (CBS) code the association can activate. The CBS code allows the listing agent to control KeyBox access by requiring the showing agent to call for authorization before opening the KeyBox. If the CBS code is active, the showing agent must enter that code into their active key before accessing it. Once you have entered the CBS code, follow the standard procedure for releasing the key container.

A. CBS is short for “Call Before Showing”. This is an extra security measure that requires an agent, showing your listing, to call before they view the property. The CBS code is already programmed in your key and can be activated by bringing the keybox into the SCCAOR Membership Department located at 1651 N. First St, San Jose, Ca 95112. Once this code is activated, the agent will have to call you to retrieve the CBS code, allowing you to screen the agents viewing the property. The agent will not be able to access the home without the CBS code.
