What is a Catch Monitoring Plan (CMP)?
A CMP is a description of how crab are offloaded and weighed. The final rule requires that each shoreside RCR prepare a CMP and that it be approved by NMFS annually. In addition to other requirements, the CMP must show how all CR crab will be sorted and weighed; and how a single individual can monitor that sorting and weighing. The CMP must also list all scales that will be used to weigh CR crab and how they can be tested.
