What is a cast acrylic sheet?
It is a relatively thin piece of special plastic that is manufactured by Lucite and it’s the first step in making a new hot tub. We take a sheet of this “cast acrylic” and place it in a special oven. At approximately 400 the acrylic is now pliable and dropped into a vacuum mold and air is withdrawn providing a “skin”. This spa “skin” is then fiberglassed on the underside to provide the strength for which Baja Spas are famous.
