What is a Care Bear?
For those who don’t know, these little bears were very popular in the 1980’s, and have actually experienced quite a resurgence today. The Care Bears are a group of bears who live in a kingdom in the clouds. On a daily basis, the Care Bears monitor the level of ‘caring’ on Earth, and fly down to help people who are in trouble because of lack of caring. Each bear has a unique personality that is exemplified by a tummy symbol. For example, Bedtime Bear is basically narcoleptic and has a moon on her stomach. Good Luck Bear is lucky and has a four leaf clover. When all the bears come together, they can do a ‘Care Bear stare’ and basically shoot rays out of their stomachs to combat any uncaring bad guy. A Care Bear Cousin is very similar, except the cousins are not bears. They are animals ranging from cats and dogs to elephants. They too have special stomach symbols, but they defeat bad guys with a ‘call’, where they all make animal noises as loud as they can.
