What is a Candle Warmer?
A candle warmer is a device that heats up and melts scented candles without the use of a flame. Rather, the candle warmer is plugged in and heats the candle through electrical power. There are several advantages to using a candle warmer to enjoy scented candles rather than burning them. First, the scent produced by a candle within a candle warmer is pure and crisp, because there is no burning soot to interfere with the scent. This also means there is no smell afterwards, such as the smell that is created when a burning candle is extinguished. A candle warmer also ensures the entire candle is used, because there is no burning through the middle of the candle, which is common when candles are burned by a flame. In addition, the very bottom portion of a candle cannot be easily burned and, therefore, is often thrown away. Here’s the backstory. I got the “time to rearrange” itch on Thursday and with help from a few of my RAs had almost finished. They had left for dinner at the dining center, and I was finishing reconnecting my PC. To make a long story short, the candle warmer was sitting on a small table in the back corner of my office and plugged into a surge protector which is beneath my desk. I needed a few more inches in order to connect the PC. Need I say more? I pulled that sucker right off the table! Cripey!
