What is a California EDT or WriteOn report? Are my results reported to the State of California automatically?
The state of California Division of Drinking Water and Environmental Management (DDWEM), in the Department of Health Services (DHS), maintains a database of all water quality test results for regulated drinking water utility systems. The data is electronically submitted to the database via Electronic Data Transfer (EDT), prepared by laboratories according to the state provided WriteOn program and protocol, which can also print a document version of the results in a “WriteOn” format. All sample submissions must indicate on the Chain-of-Custody if results are to be submitted to the state by EDT. For more information, visit their website at www.dhs.ca.gov/ps/ddwem.
