What is a C Major Scale?
“A major scale is a group of 7 notes from the 12 available pitches in every temperament music. A major scale is a patter of these 7 pitches put together in a series of whole and half steps. A whole step is 2 half steps put together. This could be found and easily represented on the piano. Let’s take a look at the piano to talk about whole and half steps. This is a note on the piano if you go up 1 note above it that is a half step. If you start from the same note and go up 2 half steps 1,2 you have a whole step. The major scale pattern is comprised of whole and half steps which goes in this order. Let’s look at the major scale patter. Whole step, whole step, half step, whole step, whole step, whole step, and if you go back to the beginning note you have another half step.
