What is a bus spotter?
Same as a trainspotter, except for buses not trains. Someone who stands on a street writing down the numbers and types of buses going past, often with the aim of spotting buses of a particular make and model. They may also take (and collect) pictures of buses, and buy books and magazines featuring buses, in which case they probably like the term “bus enthusiast” rather than bus spotter. They are often sneered at by the general public, who consider their hobby to be both pointless and boring. However, the enormous fuss over famous buses such as the Routemaster proves that really, we’re all bus spotters at heart.
