what is a book of shadows?
Most Witches, Wiccans and Magicians keep a Book of Shadows (BOS) or Grimoire (magical grammar), which is a magic workbook, journal or diary meaningful to the person who keeps it. The magic grammar contains rituals, spells, herb lore, tables of correspondence, magical recipes, personal revelations and personal theology.
a book of shadows is a covens or witches personal record of their relationship with the god/goddesses. they may choose to record things such as their spiritual journey or record spells, holidays , personal diaries, a herbal grimoir, tarot card readings and much more within them. also, you dont have to use a book, a folder, a notepad, or anything like this can be used, and indeed many wiccans use multiple books to record different things, hence ending up with a “shelf of shadows” or “cabinet of shadows” ect.
