What is a bomboniere / favor?
A bomboniere or Wedding Favour is a small gift from the bride and groom given to each guest or each family attending their wedding. It’s the bride and grooms last token of appreciation to their guests for their support, gifts and celebrating their momentous occasion with them. This tradition has now rolled into other events such as birthdays, anniversaries, Bridal showers, Baby showers; basically any event! Traditionally a European custom where 5 sugared almonds wrapped in material would be given per guest, each sugared almond representing; fertility, love, health, wealth & longevity. Over the years the bomboniere has become a more widely used tradition from 5 sugared almonds to a small trinket such as vase or photo frame. A very contemporary style Bomboniere, which is fast becoming popular, is chocolate.
