What is a blind school like?
Blind schools are not that much different from sighted schools. They still have posters on the wall, printed signs, lights, televisions, et cetera because not all students are totally blind and many of the teachers are sighted. Some blind schools (especially colleges) are live-in, just like private or boarding sighted schools. The signs on the doors would have both Braille and print (which is also common) and they would still usually have lockers, just with tactile locks. Physical education is more “adapted” to visual impairment and classes are usually smaller, but there is still running, balls, and complaints. =] Blind people still need their exercise. Blind people do take art and some are very gifted at it. I am sure they probably do more work with molding and stuff but there are many blind painters. Blind students are generally working on independence so they do not use sighted guides to get to class. (Although I know many blind people that HATE their canes and prefer a sighted guid
