What is a Bitmap image?
Bitmap images are made up of dots or pixels of color in a grid. All these tiny dots of color come together to form the images you see. Bitmap images are resolution dependant. Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image and is usually stated in dpi (dots per inch). The typical computer monitor has 72 or 96 pixels per inch, depending on your monitor and screen settings.
