What is a better calibre a 307 win or 308 win?

The 307 is a rimmed 308 cartridge with thicker brass, so the cartridge edge goes to the 308. Biggest problem with the .307 as mentioned is the lack of rifles chambered for it.An other problem is the use of flat nose bullets in the 307 not having the best ballistics. You can get a .308 in almost every gun shop and almost every manufacturer produces one, from Mossberg to Kimber. A bolt action rifle is inherently more accurate than the lever-action for a 307. The 308 is capable of 400 yard shots on deer and is considered a very accurate cartridge to start with. Obviously each gun shoots differently, but the 308 is the current long range cartridge for military use. I always see 30-30s and other lever actions touted as “brush guns”, I hunt in some of the worst brush around and I have a bolt action 30-06 or 300 WSM because it can shoot from 25 feet to 400+ yards if I need to, something a lever action would have a tough time doing. Find a 308 in a quality bolt action rifle with a good scope,
