What is a beta exam?
A beta exam is a prototype of an operational exam. These exams provide the SEI with the opportunity to gather data about the difficulty level of the exam questions before they are used operationally. Beta exams provide interested individuals the opportunity to take the certification exam at a discounted fee, and provide the SEI with valuable exam data.
The BlackBerry Certification Program currently offers beta versions of exams—exam codes starting with BCX. A beta exam will consist of approximately 150-200 questions to be completed over four hours. Candidates will be asked to answer all of the questions that may be used in the final exam. If beta candidates pass the beta exam, they will credit toward the relevant BlackBerry certification(s). Beta candidates will not receive their results immediately as beta results go under extensive analysis to determine the final pool of items and establish the passing score.
