What is a beaker used for?
Although it sounds as though it might be bird-related, a beaker has nothing to do with our feathered friends. A beaker is a cylindrically-shaped container that is used for holding liquid, usually in a scientific setting or laboratory. Once inside the beaker, the liquid can be poured, stored, measured or heated up. Most beakers are made of glass, and some are marked with fluid measurement lines.
