What is a Bayes Filter?
Spam Filtering on the basis of a Bayes (or also called Bayesian) Filter is a modern technique to distinguish spam e-mails from legitimate mail. The Bayes’ theorem is based on a mathematical foundation and can be trained on a user basis; GMX uses the Text Pattern Profiler which analyzes each e-mail youve marked as Spam so similar unsolicited mail will be recognized even better. Hence by resetting the Text Pattern Profiler, all rules learned prior to the reset will get lost in the Bayes Filter.
