a batch file is a program you write to tell the computer what to do, windows uses a batch file when it loads up in the batch file is all the hardware settings hard drive, monitor, memory, cd/dvd. mouse, keyboard all that needs to boot up your hardware, then it goes to windows batch file and boots up all the file in windows you can do anything with a batch file just view any ini, file like win.ini that is a batch file just do a systems search for like *.ini and you will get loads showing. in the old DOS (Disk Operating Systems) you had to do a batch file and a configuration file,,, boot.bat and a config.
