What is a Basic Emergency Medical Technician?
Basic Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) are health care professionals who assist individuals who are unable to make it to the hospital and need immediate care. For example, emergency medical technicians help elderly people who fall in their homes and injure themselves. They may also help individuals who have a stroke or people injured in a car accident.
