Ans: 2FA Token is a mean for users to obtain OTP, which are needed for a 2nd level of authentication as they log into Internet Banking. The OTP is automatically sent to their pre-registered mobile phone numbers via SMS every time they try to log into Internet Banking. SMS Token offers the users with greater convenience; users avoid the need of carrying additional hardware devices. However, the delivery of SMSes is dependent on the user’s mobile network operator’s service level. Uses of the SMS Token may be subjected to roaming charges when overseas. Users who subscribe to number portability or number retention services should check with their mobile operators to confirm that SMSes sent by FairPrice will be forwarded from their previous numbers to their new mobile phone numbers.
