What is a 24 hour stomach virus?
It is called “Norwalk virus”.It is a virus that is ingested through the mouth, nose and eyes from infected vomit/feces particles.It causes vomiting and diarrhea, usually for 1-2 days. You CAN prevent this virus by washing your hands at least 15-20 seconds before touching your mouth,nose and eyes (especially before preparing meals/eating etc) It is a good idea to wash your hands throughout the day because you do not know where the virus is on. Hand sanitizers cannot kill the virus.Bleach can. It is VERY important for someone with this virus to wash their hands after each visit to the bathroom including bouts of vomiting. Of course it is only proper to wash your hands after each bathroom trip.
