What is 128kbps channel onding?

If an enhanced data rate is required, two Fleet 77 or 55 terminals can be installed on a single vessel and have their two channels “bonded” – through the use of external equipment, such as Livewire’s ISDN Integration Unit (IIU), whereby two 64kbps UDI channels can be aggregated together to produce a single 128kbps aggregate channel. Some Fleet 55 terminals even support a dual channel bonding mechanism internally.
