What involvement has there been by the legislature, the governor, and the federal government?
Past and present Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Chairs Joe Canciamilla and Lois Wolk have asked the Governor to study the removal of the dam. He has agreed to do so. A draft of the study should be available later this year. Assembly Member Tim Leslie has also called for consideration of removal of the dam. The governor has asked the federal government to provide assistance to the study, and they are expected to do so. • San Francisco does not filter its water.
