What insurance company will give me a good direct rate on health coverage? Please help!?
Almost every state has laws that dictate that you cannot get a cheaper rate by going direct to the insurance company vs using an agent. Your state’s Department of Insurance regulates the insurance rates and the insurance company sets the rates so that they are the same no matter where you buy their policy from. Your best bet is to use an independent health insurance agent (an agent that can work with many different companies). Shop around and compare quotes from 3-5 different reputable companies (United Healthcare, Blue Cross, Humana, Aetna, etc.) and you will find a cheap plan especially because you are young and hopefully somewhat healthy.
